5 Important Things to Know When Buying an Electric Bike: #1 COMFORT!
Updated: Jul 27, 2021
There are many things to consider when buying your first electric bike. Here at E-Lux Electric Bikes, we've created a video series of what we believe are the 5 most important considerations when searching for your new electric bike.
First and foremost: Comfort!
The vast majority of people who purchase electric bikes ride them much further and for much longer than they would ride typical bicycles, so a comfortable electric bike is paramount! First you want to have a good riding position that’s upright with a nice padded seat. Handle bars should be in a position so where you don’t have to bend over when you’re riding.
On a mountain bike for example, you'd have a skinny, hard seat and be hunched over the frame to reach the handle bars. In this position one would have an arch in the back and have to hold their neck up to see. This leads to a crick in my neck and aching back. Further wrists would be hurting from carrying all of the upper body weight. If you’re going to be going on long rides, an upright position on a soft comfortable seat will make all the difference. The seats on the E-Lux Bikes are twice as big as normal bicycles! Additionally the tires are twice as big on E-Lux bikes, making it super comfortable and absorbing of road bumps. Riding an electric bike should be comfortable and just real easy. If it’s comfortable you can for miles and miles and miles, and that’s what it’s about; having fun and being comfortable while you’re having fun on long trips. Miles and miles. When you’re looking for comfort you want a nice upright riding position. You want a good nice fat padded seat, maybe some fatter tires, and you want a nice swept back handlebar position so that you don’t have any pressure on you wrist.
