Riding an EBike? This Safety Tip Could Save Your Life!

Getting an e-bike? This safety tip could save your life.

Riding an E-bike can be very exhilarating, but it can be dangerous too. If you're like me you'll probably ride it everywhere. To the grocery store, to the park on bike trails, and even around town. Sooner or later you're gonna find yourself in the street with traffic. And one of the most important things to remember is that you are invisible. Cars just can't see you. Especially ones parked on the side of the road. And drivers are going to open their doors. If they don't see you… Bang, they're gonna open 'em right in front of you and you're gonna run right into 'em. And you know where you could go next? Out in the street, right in front of the traffic coming up from behind.

You really need to give parked cars room. And if you find that uncomfortable because there isn't enough room in the lane you're sharing with the cars behind you, then you should just take another route. You have power so it won’t take much longer to go down side streets.,

It’s tempting to ride right up close to park cars, but remember car doors open and you're invisible. Give them plenty of room. You’ll be glad you did.
