Although the internal chemistry is a little different. But have you ever wondered how many cells are in a Tesla or an e-bike for that matter?

According to Insideevs.com, the 1865 battery cell (1865 stands for 18mm x 65mm) has been used in the Tesla Roadster, Model S, and Model X.

The 2170 (which stands for 21mm x 70mm) is a higher density and is used in the Model 3 and the Model Y. So let's use those two batteries as an example.

For the 1865 Battery Cells:

The Tesla Roadster has 6,831 cells.

The Tesla Model S has 7,104 cells.

The Tesla Model X has 7,256 cells.
